Comparison between Radial Truck Tyre and Common Diagonal Tyre in aspects of Structure and Performance
1. The tyre structure characteristics The angle between the orientation of cord thread in the cord fabric of radial truck tyre and its radial cross section is 0 degree, which also means the angle between the former one and the center line of tread is 90 degrees. The cord thread is arranged in the very similar way as the meridian line of the world (the longitude), that's how the radial truck tyre gets its name. Because the arrangement of cord thread enables us to make full use of the intensity of cord, the number of cord fabric layers in radial truck tyre is 40% to 50% fewer than that of common diagonal tyre. The common one has generally 1 to 4 layers, while radial truck tyre with steel wire has only one. Cord thread keeps connection in peripheral direction with each other only with the help of rubber. In order to withstand the great tangential force generated in driving, the belt ply, also called hard buffer layer or banding layer, which has advantages of multiple layers,
